Hello, Readers! I’m a bit late with this Saturday post. I was out collecting sticks.

Breaking news: after retirement, there are still more sticks to fetch.
Life’s “work” doesn’t end with the last paycheck, with signing on to Medicare, collecting Social Security, or dismantling a long career’s infrastructure.
The work of Life continues until, well, you know, it doesn’t.
During the year or so following whatever you did to earn a living, the workload will likely increase as you recalibrate your Life.
You may segue into a new career identity, based on your interests and values rather than financial reward. You may dive deep into the hobbies you promised yourself you would pursue, or the long-deferred travel plans. You may become immersed in caregiving, which can be demanding in time and effort.
The period after employment is anything but kicking back; it’s a shift in your work/life balance.
In truth, you’re recalibrating, creating a new identity.
